URSC Player of the Months: November & December 2017

Members are invited to vote for their

URSC Player of the Month(s): Nov & Dec 2017

sponsored by Crystal Clear Glass Engravers.

The cold facts are that Ulster won 4, drew 1 and lost 1 during this time – but it was the performances taking account the quality of the opposition that were concerning. Last gasp wins against the Kings & Benetton, a last gasp draw against the Dragons, good wins against Quins and a record defeat in Galway. A crumb of comfort over the two months was the sight of youngsters McBurney, Jones, McPhillips, Rea, Lyttle, Dalton & Hall getting a go in the white shirt.

Jacob Stockdale won the last poll for September & October …
but who stood out over the past two months?

John Cooney – a real success – and against Quins, a
Humphreys Senior-like haul

Christian Lealiifano – a rare nugget in a seam of mediocrity

Craig Gilroy – back to doing what he does best – try scoring

Alan O’Connor – consistency where inconsistency reigns

Nick Timoney – a young Leinsterman playing for our shirt

John Andrew – great hands – in a position where we do have
strength in depth

You can of course vote for anyone in the squad. Please note this is a poll to name ONE player of the two months November & December. Please do not vote for individual players of each month.
All members voting for the winning player will go into a draw for a signed rugby memento.
Email the name of your chosen player and your own name to standup@ursc.co.uk putting “Player of the Month” in the subject line. Votes in person can be made at the URSC Info Point at the Stade Rochelais match on Saturday.

Closing date is Sunday 14 January at midnight.
