URSC Player of the Month(s) January & February

Kyle McCall topped the poll for Player of the Months Nov/Dec and received his award from some of our junior members – can he make it a double?

A busy start to 2016 with 9 matches, but any highs were matched by disappointing lows. Defeat by Sarries and ultimate elimination from Europe. The home loss to an (until then) out of sorts Munster was a portent of things to come. Facile wins against Oyonnax and Treviso and the narrow successes against Glasgow and the Dragons merely papering over the cracks that opened in the recent defeats against Scarlets and Cardiff.

There were however some encouraging personal performances:

Paddy Jackson has benefited from consistent game time, even if D4 don’t seem to recognise it

Luke Marshall is looking more like the player who earned Irish caps a couple of years ago

The departing Rory Scholes has showed he knows where the try-line is

General Franco van der Merwe continues to hold the pack together

Kyle McCall (winner last time) continues his progression as a very modern prop

The dynamic Sean Reidy is another to have shown real progress having been given game time

So who is the URSC Player of the Months for January & February?

You decide!
