URSC Arrangements for Connacht match

The URSC tent will be open from 5.30pm to 6.45pm and for 15 minutes after the match.  Come along and vote for the Player of the Season, buy your BBQ tickets, renew your URSC membership for 2011/12 or simply come along for a chat.

Better still, pop along to meet Stevie Ferris and Nigel Brady who will be at the tent to sign autographs and pose for pictures prior to the match.

The URSC Player of the Season 2010/11

The URSC Player of the Season will be presented at the Magners Ulster Rugby Awards Night on 10 May.

The nominations for this prestigious award not only recognise the influence of the new South African contingent, but also home-grown talent, including one in his breakthrough season.

The nominations are:

Johann Muller – Intelligent, influential and inspirational, the big man has patented the phrase “why not?”

Ruan Pienaar – a class act – shy and quiet off the field, a winner on it, just loves it when the ref says “last play”…

Nevin Spence – Who will forget his somersault try at Bath? This debut season – Ulster and the Wolfhounds…..next season…the world (cup) perhaps?

Ian Humphreys – Man of the Match performances throughout the season – and that late kick against Biarritz was a thing of beauty

Andrew Trimble – consistently muscular try scoring performances in the Magners and Europe – back to his international best

Pedrie Wannenberg – “Mr Indestructible” in the most attritional of positions – his Euro trys against Bath and at Aironi were crucial

The URSC Player of the Year wins a magnificent bronze trophy created by renowned local artist and URSC member, Bob Sloan.  The winner also receives a Frederique Constant watch supplied by Alan Ferris of McNeillys Jewellers Lombard Street Belfast.

Previous winners have been:

Matt McCullough
Justin Harrison
