URSC Player of the Month(s)

It’s URSC Player of the Month(s) sponsored by Crystal Clear Glass Engravers time again!

So what happened in September and October? A decent start saw last gasp wins against both Scarlets and Edinburgh, followed by a more comfortable win at the Kings and another last gasp effort brought a bonus point draw at the Cheetahs. The wheels then came off in spectacular fashion at Thomond followed by a historic loss to Connacht at the Kingspan. Europe brought our traditional win against Leicester followed by an undeservedly heavy defeat in Paris. October however ended with a good win against the Dragons.

The first couple of months saw our new signings making their first starts and yet more youngsters given a chance. So who impressed?

John Cooney – new season, same old magic!

Will Addison – impressed us….and Joe Schmidt

Stuart McCloskey – now the back line’s senior pro – leading from the front

Michael Lowry – so far, so very good

Marcell Coetzee – at last a run of games – physicality personified

Tom O’Toole – onwards and upwards towards the very top

Nick Timoney – a little older, a little wiser and a little faster

You can of course vote for anyone in the squad.

Please note this is a poll to name one player of the two months September and October. Please do not vote for individual players for each month.

All members voting for the winning player will go into a draw for a signed rugby momento.

E mail the name of your chosen player and your own name to standup@ursc.co.uk putting Player of the Month in the subject line.

Closing date is noon on Wednesday 14th November.
