Squad Update: 10-05-16

Tommy Bowe

Tommy Bowe will miss the rest of the season through injury

Ulster Rugby have released a squad update following their 46-26 win over the Ospreys in Swansea which qualified them for the semi-finals of the Guinness PRO12.

The medical staff were happy to report that the squad had no new injury concerns following the game and that all players involved came through unscathed.

There was, however, bad news for back three duo Tommy Bowe and Louis Ludik who have both been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Bowe, 32, has had exploratory arthroscopy of his right knee to address some discomfort he has been feeling since the win over Zebre in mid-April. Although the surgery revealed no new injury, it was confirmed that the winger would only be ready to return by pre-season training.

Ludik will have surgery in England on Thursday on a persistent groin issue. There is no exact time-scale for his return yet.
