Vote for URSC Player of Month

URSC Player of Month: January/February 2011

Whilst the new year started off somewhat uncertainly with a much changed Ulster side finally subsiding at Thomond Park, the only other blemish was the one point defeat at the Ospreys.  Five wins were recorded including the Heineken Cup thriller against Biarritz and the qualification match at Aironi.  The other wins were bonus point homers against Treviso and Cardiff (the latter being it is hoped a glimpse into the future) and our first ever win in Llanelli, thanks to that last gasp monster kick from Ruan Pienaar.

The short list for the URSC Jan/Feb player of the month is:

Johann Muller – for sustained excellence and leadership;

Pedrie Wannenberg – hard yards from Mr Indestructible and season defining tries at Aironi;

Nevin Spence – gets better with every game played and seen above in action against Biarritz;

Ruan Piennaar – tries against Treviso and Cardiff – and kick perfect at Llanelli; and

Ian Humphreys – that kick against Biarritz and scoring passes for 3 of the 4 tries against Cardiff.

You can vote in person by visiting the URSC tent at the Aironi game tonight, at the Dragons game in two weeks time or through www.ursc.co.  This vote is open to all.  The first URSC member drawn at random from those voting for the winning player will receive a £20 cash prize.
Voting closes at midnight on Friday 18th March 2011 at midnight.
